Sonia Lowman is the Director/Writer/Producer of TEACH US ALL, a social justice documentary and campaign on school segregation and educational inequality in the U.S. set against the 1957 Little Rock school desegregation crisis. TEACH US ALL was acquired by award-winning filmmaker Ava DuVernay (13th, Selma) and released via Netflix and community screenings nationwide on September 25, 2017 to mark the 60th anniversary of the Little Rock school crisis and honor the Little Rock Nine. Currently, the film is being distributed in educational institutions, along with a comprehensive social action curriculum for student leadership.
Sonia has a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics and Bachelor’s degree from Boston University, both in International Relations. She has managed communications for International Medical Corps, a humanitarian relief organization with operations in 30+ countries; an educational nonprofit, the Lowell Milken Center for Unsung Heroes; and the International Monetary Fund, where she spearheaded a youth outreach campaign in the Middle East.
